other side of Brighton, popular seaside resort, grew up in nineteenth century, when piers were built. Brighton offers all kinds of entertainment, from concerts and plays in theatre to popular amusement arcades on Palace Pier and such local attractions as Aquarium, established over 100 years ago, waxworks and electric railway running between Aquarium and Black Rock.
area of old houses known as Lanes is very attractive shopping centre, where visitors can buy souvenirs and antiques. houses used to be fishermen's cottages in early nineteenth century, but have now been converted into shops. Not far from Lanes is modern shopping centre with licensed restaurants and tables outdoors where you can enjoy drink in good weather.
Brighton is within easy reach of London. In fact, there is race every year for veteran cars from London to Brighton, held in November, and there is also London-to-Brighton Walk. There are horse races at Brighton racecourse, mile from town, about twice month during season, and races, together with Brighton's other attractions, have made popular day out for Londoners for many years.
